The event continues the celebration of 50 years of independence achieved by Guyana and Barbados in 2016 and recognises that this year Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago will celebrate 55 years of self-rule.

The venue

The Inner Temple is one of four Inns of Court to which all barristers must belong. Inner Temple has kindly sponsored two legal workshops organised by BFUWI for Caribbean and disadvantaged students where a number of lawyers, predominantly from the Caribbean community have spoken to students about different career paths in law. Around 250 students have benefited from these workshops and the opportunity to interact with lawyers practising in a multitude of specialisations.
