Cover Up Fashion Show: celebrating modest womenswear

FASHION SHOW: Maureen Morgan created the event in 2016

COVER UP Fashion Show is set to make a difference, impact lives and connect and collaborate with charities to support, encourage and empower women from all walks of life.

Our aim is make women feel confident, beautiful, glamorous by empowering them to love themselves and what they wear.

The Cover Up Fashion Show concept was started by Maureen Morgan in 2016.

As an active member of church and mentor in the community, she noticed some ladies were finding the transition from their past secular lives to their newly found faith difficult to navigate. A big issue was not knowing how to dress in a modest yet modern and contemporary way, that reflected their new outlook on life, how they viewed themselves and the image they now wanted to portray to the world.

Maureen soon realised this issue was not merely confined to women in church or other faith environments. Some women feel uncomfortable in their old clothes, when they start a new job or change size when they become mums, whilst others are unable to afford outfits to reflect their new outlook on life. Others simply want to know how to dress more modestly while still being stylish. The Cover Up Fashion Show bridges that gap by addressing those needs in a fun, informative and stylish way.

Cover up Fashion Show celebrates diversity. Its fashion shows gives a platform to up and coming designers and uses models of all shapes, sizes and faiths to walk the catwalk.

Cover Up Fashion Show is a not for profit organisation. Its ethos "building community and self confidence, which allows women to appreciate the power within them to make a positive respectable outward statement that promotes, “coverage is elegance".

Future projects include school workshops and mentoring single mothers within the community.
