NBA ATHLETES Lebron James and Dwayne Wade were among the VIP attendees at Drake’s new Toronto-based restaurant this week.

Local Canadian media reported that, ahead of a game on Thursday, Drake and James hosted a birthday party for Wade, along with producer friends OVO Chubbs, Future The Prince, Baka Not Nice and DJ Steph Floss.

The restaurant is reportedly called ‘Pick 6’ – an American sports term used in horse betting and football. As such, it has been widely speculated that it is intended to be a sports bar. An official opening date has yet to be announced for the new establishment.

Pick 6ix is the latest business venture for the Canadian rapper.

In 2012, he started his very own ‘OVO’ record label with producer Noah ‘40’ Shebib and business partner, Oliver El-Khatib.

Last summer (2017), Drake also opened a flagship shop for his brand OVO (October's Very Own) at a shopping mall in the city, Yorkdale Shopping Mall. It sells merchandise including jumpers, shoes, hats, water bottles and lighters.

In 2015, the rapper partnered with local celebrity chef Susur Lee to open his debut restaurant Fring's.

Along with American whiskey line Virginia Black, Drake is also an investor in a line of premium matcha drinks from the brand MatchaBar for Whole Foods.
