Dubois: I’ll take care of Gorman

FIGHTING TO PROVE HIMSELF: Daniel Dubois

THERE’S A lot to prove for top prospects Daniel Dubois and Nathan Gorman when the two tee off against each other for the British heavyweight title next month.

Gorman has goaded Dubois tirelessly in the run up the their fight at The O2, London on July 13, with the Cheshire-born fighter claiming to have got the better of his next opponent in sparring sessions gone by.

Dubois, however, says, the past is in the past.

“Whatever he (Gorman) has to say or thinks happened in the past when we sparred has no bearing on this and I can’t wait to show what I can do,” said the east London boxer.

At a recent press conference Gorman said: “I have the edge in everything he does. I have an answer for everything he does. Daniel is a little stop on my way to a destination. Daniel is a good fighter, but my style beats him and I fully believe that.”

On the same bill of boxing, Joe Joyce defends his WBA Gold heavyweight championship against Bryant Jennings.

Confident of putting the American away, Joyce said: “The juggernaut is here. I throw a lot of punches, throw punches with force and Bryant is going to get run over.”
