Eubank to have ‘gargantuan battle’ with News International

FORMER BOXING world champion Chris Eubank declared that News International can expect a “gargantuan battle” after turning down their “derisory” £21,000 settlement for hacking his phone.

Owned by medic tycoon Rupert Murdoch’s company News International, defunct newspaper News of the World had intercepted hundreds of celebrity phone calls including Eubank.

Eubank said that the newspaper had “made a mockery of the justice system here in the UK.”

Representing himself at the High Court in London on March 18, the 46-year-old from Brighton joked about Murdoch’s wife Wendi, who struck a protester who had attempted to attack Murdoch at the House of Commons in 2011.

“I know that Mrs Murdoch has a pretty good left hook so I am going to ask her to be gentle with me,” added Eubanks.
