Failed relationship made Oprah contemplate suicide

HEARTBROKEN: Oprah Winfrey is said to have contemplated suicide over a failed relationship

OPRAH WINFREY is said to have tried to commit suicide over a failed relationship, reports claim.

The media mogul is said to have been so distraught when she found out that DJ Tim Watts, the man she had been in love with, was married with kids she allegedly drove her car into a tree.

She is also believed to have written a suicide note to best friend Gayle King, who in return is reported to have placed her on a suicide watch.

Winfrey, who reportedly met the radio DJ when she started working as a production assistant at television station in Baltimore in 1981, is thought to have said that he was the man she 'would marry in a heartbeat'.

"What happened between me and Oprah took place a long time ago and we have both learned from it. I have no hard feelings towards her and she has none towards me," Watts is said to have told American gossip magazine, The National Enquirer.

"We were both young and at an age when people do stupid things they might regret later. We both moved on and are at good place in our lives," he continued.

Winfrey has since been in a long term relationship with marketing executive and motivational speaker Stedman Graham, who she met in 1986.
