Get ready for the Red Dress Ball on September 30

THE UK’s version of Oprah Winfrey’s Legends Ball will be launched on September 30.

The inaugural Red Dress Ball will take place at the prestigious Institute of Directors (IOD), in Pall Mall, house to a treasure trove of arts, valued at over £10m.

The organiser of the autumn party Emma Adams, believes London lacks a prestigious annual event on par with Winfrey’s gathering.

The managing director of events company MMCo World discussing the venture said:

“The Red Dress Ball has been launched to introduce a new era of high-quality entertainment, but in a setting where business can be discussed; hence why the Institute of Directors was chosen. The IOD sets standards and supports business, which is what the Red Dress Ball will also achieve.

“The annual event will attract peoples from London’s many cultures. Artists, sports personalities, bankers, entrepreneurs and politicians will be mingling in a prestigious setting where they can network, enjoy an evening of high quality entertainment and contribute to worthwhile charities.”

LAUNCH: Master chocolatier Paul Wayne Gregory will be launching his Pure Indulgence range on the night

During the evening of entertainment the demure rooms of the Institute of Directors will be transformed into an emporium; featuring X Factor's Jennifer Phillips, comedians including Curtis Walker, aspiring musicians, live jazz and salsa and chocolate sculpting.

Hilary Mwelwa, from Hill Street Soul, will be performing live at the Red Dress Ball. The singer who has shared the stage with the likes of D’Angelo, Kelis, Macy Gray and Angie Stone said:

“I am happy that I was asked to perform at such a prestigious event, which will attract artists and notable persons from across the UK. There is a need for a polished event which will celebrate UK talent.”

Paul Wayne Gregory will be launching his new line of luxury affordable chocolates at the event, Indulgence is Everything and sculpting the faces of celebrities from chocolate, to raise money for charity. The chocolatier has endorsed the concept of the Red Dress Ball. He said:

“London has a rich variety of cultures and it’s something we can embrace through events like the one organised by MMCo.”

MMCo World has been organising notable events for over thirty years in London.
