Holiday fun with the Kuga

PICTURED: Ford Kuga Vignale

CHRISTMAS is nothing more than a distant memory now. But when I do look back at the festive season, I have to give plaudits to the Ford Kuga Vignale that accompanied me every step of the way.

I did nearly a 1,000 miles and enjoyed every minute. If you spend that much time in a vehicle you had best enjoy it, no?

So for the unitiated, just what is Vignale?

The most obvious benefit of buying a Vignale model is that Ford has ticked pretty much every option on the list, as well as using upmarket materials that aren't available with the rest of the range.

So Vignale models are available with exclusive exterior colours and alloy wheel designs, plus other cosmetic features, such as a hexagonal upper grille and LED headlights as standard.
Inside, the seats are covered in high-quality leather, with patterns stitched into the surface (as seen above), and there's more leather on the upper surfaces of the dashboard.

In general, you can expect a liberal scattering of electric motors - to adjust the front seats, raise and lower the bootlid, and to fold the side mirrors, to prevent any physical exertion from tainting your premium experience.

The cars typically feature reversing cameras, upgraded sound systems, large alloy wheels and further lucuries, such as a heated sterring wheel.

Quite simply, every feature of the Kuga Vignale puts your needs first. From hands-free communications, to automatically responding to changing road conditions, all you’ll have to do is sit back and relax, whilst smart technologies work their magic.

For me the Kuga is a sexy Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and the Vignale just takes it too another notch. As for practicality, nobody does it better. Christmas shopping and assorted items were bundled into the cavernous boot with room to spare; I would have done UPS or DPD proud.

Festive season with the lithe Kuga, it drives like a dream too, was arguably one of the best presents I received!

* All-rounder
* Hugely practical
* Fuel economy

* Expensive
* Busy dashboard
* Hard to think of another…!
