'Ignore the critics!'

IGNORING: Daniel Sturridge, not paying attention to critics

FOLLOWING A rather unstable season for Chelsea, striker Daniel Sturridge has urged his team mates to ignore negative comments from critics if they want to see their luck change.

Sturridge, who came to west London club from Manchester City in 2009, believes the team need to ignore the negativity surrounding them if they want to emerge from their current bad spell.

The former Premier League champions have slipped to forth place on the table and have lost at home to Liverpool for the second time in nine days after going down 2-0 in the League Cup last night (Nov 29).

"When we worry about the anxieties and the stresses [or] worry about what the fans and the pundits are thinking, that is the one thing that can send the team into a downward spiral," the 22-year-old said.

He continued: "So it is important not to worry. We lost a bit of momentum , we had some big games which we lost, but we were unfortunate in how we lost those games, because we played well."

"I just don't think we have had the luck," he said.
