Intern fired after racist 'n****r' cotton picking tweet

OFFENSIVE: Erika Escalante (wearing turquoise) said she released her 'inner n****r' at a cotton field

A TEXAS student is now without a job after her racist and offensive social media post got her fired from her internship.

Erika Escalante, a student from Katy, Texas, who attends Chandler-Gilbert Community College, brought great shame to her internship position at Isagenix, a dietary supplements and personal care products company, when she decided to share a photo of her and a friend picking cotton, all the while claiming it brought out their “inner n****r.”

Soon thereafter the post went viral and crafty Twitter users found her Facebook and career info, Bossip reported. They then tweeted the company she interned for, letting them know about the offensive tweet.

One Twitter user wrote: "Excuse me @isagenix do you know that your intern @Eri82195 is using racially offensive words & images online?"

The multilevel marketing company promptly tweeted that they were shocked by Escalante's actions and that she was fired.

"We too find this tweet offensive & we are shocked. This does not reflect our values & culture. The intern is no longer with us,” the company wrote in response.

Escalante immediately deleted her account.
