This year, Frontline are recruiting 350 outstanding individuals onto its prestigious two-year graduate programme and offering you the opportunity to join one of Britain’s most challenging, yet rewarding professions.

With Frontline, you’ll help to transform the lives of vulnerable children and families while gaining the leadership skills needed to drive change in social work and broader society. They currently have vacancies in Greater London, the North West, North East, the Midlands, and the South East.

The Frontline Programme

Frontline offers a high-quality leadership programme for graduates and career changers that will equip you with the skills and attributes required to make a positive impact in social work and beyond.

As a Frontline participant, you’ll receive world class academic and practical training to provide you with the complex skills to work effectively with children and families. You’ll also form part of the next generation of social work leaders helping to transform the lives of vulnerable children and families.

Year 1: You’ll work with three Frontline participants in a local authority child protection team. You’ll be supported by an experienced Consultant Social Worker and benefit from 200 days of on-the-job training.

Year 2: You’ll be fully qualified, employed by your local authority and studying towards a fully funded Masters.


• Earn as you learn: Your tuition fees will be covered by Frontline and in your first year, you will also receive a tax and NI exempt bursary.

• Qualify after 13 months: After our five-week Summer Institute and one year of on-the-job training, you’ll be able to register with HCPC to become a qualified social worker.

• Expert Support: You’ll receive an exceptional level of experience and support throughout the two-year programme from your Consultant Social Worker, Academic Tutor and the Frontline Programme Team.

• Funded Masters: In Year 2, you’ll be closely supported by the Frontline team and your Academic Tutor, as you work towards a Masters in Social Work. You’ll also have access to a coach to help you realise your potential and impact.

• Leadership Skills: You’ll develop your confidence as a leader and work with a wide range of stakeholders to inspire others. By learning transferable leadership skills, you’ll also have the skills to make a difference beyond social work.


Year 1: A bursary of between £16-19K depending on location

Year 2: Earn newly qualified social worker salary between £25-£35 (depending on location and local authority).
