KANYE WEST and Kim Kardashian are currently in Uganda as the rapper is working on songs for his new album Yandhi.

And the celebrity couple are making the rounds on their visit to the African country as they were pictured meeting with Uganda President Yoweri Museveni - and the meeting has not gone down well.

The pair have been criticised on social media for meeting up with President Museveni, due to his controversial actions regarding the LGBT community.

On Twitter user wrote: "So after Kanye's meeting with Trump he is now meeting with Museveni... Man has quite a taste for presidents."

Another said: "So Kanye and Kim just had a meeting with ignorant, homophobic, discriminative dictator Museveni of Uganda! That’s what I call a fucking douchebag’s reunion!! Smh"

Homosexuality is currently banned in Uganda, and Museveni has been called out for his treatment of gay people, who are routinely arrested and tortured in the east African nation in crackdowns on the LGBT community.

Kanye and Kim visited the State House in Entebbe for a brief meeting with President Museveni and his daughter Diana, where they discussed tourism and promoting Uganda's arts and tourism.

President Museveni took to Twitter after their meeting to thank the famous pair for their visit and wished them a happy trip.

"I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and @KimKardashian to Uganda. I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how to promote Uganda's tourism and the arts. I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. It is the true Pearl of Africa," he tweeted.

The visit to the State House comes less than a week after Kanye's visit to the White House to meet with Donald Trump in which he launched a bizarre ten-minute rant voicing his support for the president.
