Kingdom Choir announce headline show and debut album

ON THE RISE: The Kingdom Choir will perform in London later this year

THE KINGDOM Choir are set to stage a headline concert in London ahead of the release of their debut album.

They achieved global prominence after their wonderful gospel cover of Stand By Me, performed at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May was watched around the world.

The standalone show will take place on Wednesday November 28 at London’s Union Chapel, the iconic Islington venue where the likes of Elton John, Amy Winehouse and many others have held shows.

As well as a headline show, the choir will be releasing their debut album on November 2 2018.

Karen Gibson, founder and conductor of The Kingdom Choir, said: “The Kingdom Choir are absolutely delighted with the journey of the past few months It’s been a rollercoaster, but we wouldn’t have it any other way – first, the honour of being able to sing at the Royal Wedding, and then the thrill of being signed to Sony! It’s like an un-dreamt dream – one that you wouldn’t even consider, because you never thought it could happen to you. We’re very grateful and very excited about what’s to come in the next few months too.”

The album, the name of which is yet to be announced, will feature their spectacular rendition of Stand By Me, which went straight in at number one on the Billboard Gospel Songs Chart. The news comes following the choir’s recent signing of a major record deal with Sony Music UK.

The choir will head to the studio to begin recording the album later this month.
