EUROPEAN FOOTBALL’S governing body UEFA have opened proceedings against Italian club Lazio following alleged racist behaviour from their fans against Tottenham Hotspur at the Stadio Olimpico on November 22.

Proceedings will also be instigated against Lazio for their fans throwing objects such as missiles and fireworks, incidents of a non-sporting nature, late team arrival at the stadium and late handling of the team sheet.

UEFA, who will discuss all cases on January 24, will also commence proceedings against Spurs for crowd disturbance related issues.

Lazio were previously fined a mere £32,000 in November for the improper conduct of their fans at White Hart Lane on September 20 after several black Tottenham players were subjected to monkey taunts from the away support.
