LeBron James celebrates “powerful coloured women’

BLACK WOMEN are gracing the covers of Britain and America’s most prestigious magazines and basketball star LeBron James can't get enough.

The athlete took to social media to share a post that featured Beyoncé on the cover of American Vogue, Tiffany Haddish on the cover of Glamour magazine and many more black women currently dominating September issue’s.

His Instagram caption read: 'nothing in this world is more POWERFUL than Colored Women!! Thank you all for continuing to not settle and setting great examples in life for so many looking up to you for inspiration/guidance and love!!'

The father of three wrote passionately about what this milestone has done for representation, stating that his ‘daughter is watching! #WomenPower.’

Alongside the move made by America Vogue, magazine houses Porter, British Vogue, and Marie Claire have featured the iconic faces of Lupita Nyong'o, Rihanna and Beyonce, as well as actress and singer Zendaya.

Despite the major step toward diversity, James’ words of empowerment have not been well received by all. Social media users have called out the Lakers player for being a ‘racist’.

One offended commenter wrote: ‘We are all equal, so yes it is racist to say nothing is more beautiful than a coloured woman when in reality each person is just as equal as each other.”

“I’m proud to be white,” read another comment. “I’m just as powerful, influential, and beautiful as any other woman. We are all equal."
