Lee Rigby killer lodges appeal

MURDER CONVICTION: A court sketch of Adebolajo (PA)

ONE OF the men convicted of murdering British soldier Lee Rigby has appealed against the jury’s decision to find him guilty.

Michael Adebolajo, 29, from Romford, Essex, was convicted last year of murdering the 25-year-old drummer in May 2013 in broad daylight before members of the public on a street in Woolwich, southeast London.

He was sentenced to life in prison along with Michael Adebowale, 22, who was also convicted of the army drummer’s murder.

APPEAL: Adebolajo

The Judicial Office confirmed Adebolajo's application for the appeal against his conviction.

Rigby was hacked to death by the two men on May 22, 2013, when he was returning his barracks in Woolwich.
