London debut for Ghanaian fashion line

ONE OF Ghana’s top fashion design teams have launched a bid to break the UK market.

Sisters Abynnah and Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah made their name in the west African country with MAKSI, the clothing brand they founded.

Now they have completed plans to launch MAKSI at The Book Club in Shoreditch, London, on September 10.
The sisters launched MAKSI in November 2009 in Accra.

They said they wanted Londoners to experience the beauty of African print inspired fashion from the ‘Gateway to Africa’ – Ghana.
