Mark Duggan’s sister aiming to engage youths

INITIATIVE: Paulette Hall

THE SISTER of the man whose death following a police shooting sparked recent riots across England, has unveiled plans to engage youths in London.

Paulette Hall, 36, whose brother Mark Duggan was shot by police in August, told The Voice: “I would be working with Roadwork Media [in Kennington, south London] in providing youths with the opportunity to learn to do photography, film and theatre.”

Hall, from Tottenham in north London, added: “I would be setting various interactive courses for young people.”

The youth worker plans to visit London’s Oxford Circus on Monday (November 14) with a team, handing out questionnaires to find out how much young people know about gangs and are involved in gangs.

“The initiative behind this is to find out how susceptible young people are and how they relate to gangs,” she said.

The answers from the questionnaires are going to be used to create youth programmes.
