MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry have released their official engagement portraits, in celebration of their upcoming nuptials.

The couple were photographed by acclaimed fashion and celebrity photographer Alexi Lubomirski, who was a former assistant of photographer Mario Testino and a favourite of Princess Diana.

The pictures were taken earlier this week at Frogmore House, a private royal residence in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Speaking on snapping the first official portrait for the newly engaged couple, Lubomirski said: "It was an incredible honour to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be a witness to this young couple's love for one another.

"I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together."

Prince Harry, 33, and 36-year-old Markle, who announced their engagement on November 27, are set to wed on May 19 next year at a ceremony in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
