'Miami Cannibal's' girlfriend reveals identity

REVEALED: Yovanka Bryant (left) and Rudy Eugene

THE GIRLFRIEND of 'Miami Cannibal' Rudy Eugene revealed her identity for the first time yesterday afternoon.

Yovanka Bryant, 27, who in a relationship with Eugene before was gunned down by police after he ate '75 per cent' of a homeless man's face, said that he would have been a 'good father for her children.'

During a press conference, which she attended with lawyer Gloria Allred, Bryant said Eugene left carrying a Bible before the incident on MacArthur Causeway in Miami, on May 26.

She reportedly said: "I thought he would be a good father for my children. I wish the public knew Rudy the way I did."

The news comes after Bryant reportedly claimed that the 31-year-old, who has now been dubbed the 'miami cannibal', was a god fearing individual and must have been the victim of 'a Voodoo curse,' or was spiked with drugs without his knowledge.

Speaking to CBS Miami, she said: “That wasn’t him, that was his body but it wasn’t his spirit. Somebody did this to him.”

She added that Eugene always read the Bible and his last words to her were 'I love you and I’ll be back.'

Initially police suspected that Eugene had been under the influence of hallucinogenic drug, LSD, however new reports that suggested that he may have taken a similar drug nicknamed 'Bath Salts'.

A representative for the NSW Drug Squad told News.com.au: “Bath salts as mephedrone or MDPV are analogues of illegal drugs, which means bath salts in those forms are illegal."

“It's an emerging trend that the drug squad is starting to see these new psychoactive substances being used," they added.
