A Michelle Obama-inspired festival is coming to London

INSPIRING: Michelle Obama

FOLLOWING THE release of Michelle Obama’s autobiography Becoming last autumn, and its phenomenal success in the UK, Black Girl Festival and Penguin are delighted to announce the launch of BGF X Becoming Festival.

On 14th April, Michelle Obama will be returning to London for a major event at the O2 Arena: Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama.

In celebration of her memoir and her return to the UK, Black Girl Festival will be hosting a 3-day festival of talks and workshops inspired by the themes of the former First Lady’s memoir. BGF X Becoming Festival will run from Tuesday April 9- Thursday April 11 at the Canada Water Library in Southwark, just down the road from where Michelle Obama will be appearing.

For ages 11 and upwards, BGF X Becoming Festival will offer poster making workshops, bitesize history lessons on Black British feminism, creative writing workshops, and in conversations between rising stars within the creative industries. More details on the line-up will be announced soon.
