IN DEMAND: Michelle Obama with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie at her Becoming event at Southbank Centre earlier this month

MICHELLE OBAMA is to return to the UK for another event as part of her book tour.

The former first lady left thousands of fans disappointed after her only UK Becoming book tour date at Southbank Centre sold out in minutes last month.

But now fans have another chance to see her.

In a tweet posted this afternoon, The O2 announced that she will be coming back to the UK for another book tour event, Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama, on April 14.

The O2 said: “We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama in April 2019. Tickets on sale Friday at 1pm.”

When tickets for the December tour date at Southbank Centre, which saw Michelle Obama in conversation with author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, sold out in minutes, many who missed out expressed their sadness on social media. Some called for the "Forever First Lady" to speak in an arena and now their hopes have been realised.

As well as the event in London, Mrs.Obama has announced events in five other cities acrosss Europe – Copenhagen, Stockholm, Oslo, Paris, and Amsterdam – as well as 15 further events across the US and Canada.

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE Magazine, she said “I couldn’t be more excited to visit even more cities across the country and around the world. I’ve been so humbled by the response to the tour thus far and the overwhelming interest we’ve received from so many communities we weren’t able to visit this year.

"That’s why I’m thrilled that we’re able to expand our conversations to these new settings and wider audiences. I can’t wait to continue the discussions that have been so meaningful for me and, I hope, for so many others.”

It was also announced this afternoon that Becoming was the best-selling book across the UK and Ireland last week, selling over 116,000 copies across all editions, including 99,904 hardbacks (source TCM/ICM).

This is its biggest week of sales since publication on Tuesday 13 November, and it's the fastest selling non-fiction title of the year in the UK, with over 375,000 copies sold since publication.

To date, more than three million copies of Becoming have sold in the U.S. and Canada, meaning it has sold more copies than any other book published in the U.S. in 2018.
