THE ROYAL wedding of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle was an unmissable ceremony for the British nation and beyond.

Thousands of miles away over in Kenya, many viewers keenly tuned in to witness the couple tie the knot with some paying a fortune to watch it on the big screen at Windsor Golf Hotel, Nairobi on Sunday (May 20).

Joseph and Lilian Muchemi were among the Kenyan guests who paid one million shillings to witness the grand occasion.

The couple, who are planning their own wedding was in search of inspiration for their upcoming big day. “The event has been very enjoyable and the money was well worth it," they said.

A list of recognisable faces also graced the red carpet event with the likes of Former Miss India Kenya, TV personality Pinky Ghelani and actress Naomi Ng'ang'a also in attendance.

Guests indulged in a four-course meal that was prepared by English Chef James Dennis.

The menu consisted of ‘Meghan Markle’s’ grilled Caesar salad with shrimp, the second course a trilogy of ice, traditional British Kedgeree with locally smoked sea fish, lamb and apricot alongside almond pilau.

The attendees of Kenya’s most prestigious event had their two-night affair aired live on Kenya Television Network.
