Must see: Black Ice

PICTURED: Black Ice runs from October 30 - November 2

BLACK ICE is a new production that is a must see this season.

The play focuses on Rhonda and Claudia, two women who couldn’t be more different if they tried, as they explore friendship, motherhood, love, sex and betrayal on stage in a captivating story packed with humour and wit.

The prestigious ex-trophy wife Rhonda meets slick mouthed ex-drug addict Claudia resulting in a hilarious yet heart-warming one act theatre production about two women incarcerated for murder.

The play is a fusion of daily prison life and the grave circumstances that led to each female’s incarceration; told in a poetic refreshingly contemporary style.

An explosion of up-beat monologues, witty conversation, humour and painful past secrets as the question on everyone's lips 'What can drive a mother to kill?' is answered.

Black Ice was written in 2015 after looking at the harrowing statistics about women in prisons and Atlanta Green’s passion to humanise their experience, highlighting the correlation between women in prison and suicide, thus creating an educational yet painfully realistic narrative.

Atlanta Green is a 26-year-old multidiscipline writer and performance poet from south west London. Her experience writing for both stage and screen as well as blogging and self publishing two books, showcases her ability to create across various platforms.
