NEW MUSIC: Cymande drop their exclusive mixtape

BACK AT IT: Cymande

BRITISH/JAMAICAN funk band Cymande are back with new music ahead of their gig at Dimensions Festival this summer.

The new mixtape, which drops today, features their uniquely British take on funk, fused with jazz and soul sounds.

The band originally broke through in the 70s, formed by Steve Scipio and Patrick Patterson in 1971, along with musicians from Guyana, Jamaica and Saint Vincent.

Cymande achieved success after being discovered in Soho with energetic funk hits live ‘Dove’ and ‘Brothers On The Slide’. Now, the original 13 members are down to 6 key players, who reunited in 2012 and again 2016 to let the legend of the funk live on.
