R.I.P: Chinedu Udoji
NIGERIAN FOOTBALLER Chinedu Udoji has died in a car accident, aged 28.
The tragic news was announced by top Nigerian club Kano Pillars, who announced that Udoji had died on Sunday (Feb 18).
The accident happened a few hours after a league game against his former club Enyimba. Udoji, who played for Pillars in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Enyimba, was involved in an accident on his way back after visiting his former employers.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) said: "The demise of @pillarsfc defender Chinedu Udoji comes as a rude shock to us this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and club. May his soul rest in peace. #RIPUdoji"

Club chairman Felix Anyansi-Agwu said: "He was a ferocious captain and leader on the pitch, but a warm and gentle friend off it."

Udoji is survived by his wife and two children.
