Norwich may sack Chris Hughton if they lose next game

GROWING PRESSURE: Norwich boss Chris Hughton (PA)

CHRIS HUGHTON could soon be the next Premier League manager to be given the boot due to the poor form Norwich are showing with only four wins in their last 21 league matches.

The Canaries come up against Stoke next Sunday (September 29) and if the game ends in defeat, Hughton may be handed his marching orders.

Norwich invested heavily over the summer transfer window with the likes of Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Nathan Redmond, Gary Hooper and Leroy Fer arriving to consolidate the side’s top flight status.

But Norwich have suffered a worrying start to the new season and remain in the bottom three as the new faces have failed to have the desired impact so far.

Securing three points against Stoke is absolutely crucial for Hughton – his next two games after that are against Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Canaries narrowly avoided embarrassment of losing to lower league opposition in the League Cup last night after beating Watford in extra time.
