ALL GOLD: Jason Gardener

TEENAGERS WITH an interest in sport will get an opportunity to enhance their communication, decision making and influencing skills early in 2017.

Future Sport Leaders is a programme providing young people aged 15-18 from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities the opportunity to take on decision making roles in their local schools or communities.

A national conference will take place on February 10 in Manchester offering up to 80 young people the chance to be part of interactive workshops to develop their skills.

The aim, following the conference is that each attendee will take on a decision making role in their school or community with support from a teacher, mentor or coach.

At the event, the young people will also hear from motivational speakers across the sporting landscape including former Olympic sprint champion, Jason Gardener.

Please note, travel expenses up to the value of £100 will be paid by Youth Sport Trust.
