Oprah Winfrey to launch her very own healthy cookbook

Oprah Winfrey, noted bread enthusiast and former daytime talk show host, will allow us into her heart and her kitchen with the release of a new cookbook next year.
MEDIA MOGUL Oprah Winfrey is putting her autobiography on the back burner to concentrate on her upcoming cookbook.

Back in October, Winfrey joined forces with Weight Watchers, paying $43.2m (£27.89m) for a 10 per cent slice of the slimming company.

But Winfrey’s choice to team up with Weight Watchers is about more than just a good business venture.

The mogul has struggled with her weight for quite some time, doing so in the public eye. But she’s trying to drop the pounds again, this time, with the help of the company and her many fans.

Winfrey’s Food, Health and Happiness: On Point Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life book will be released in January on her own publishing imprint with Macmillan US and Flatiron Books.

“In the past several months on Weight Watchers, I have worked with wonderful chefs to make healthier versions of my favourite meals,” Winfrey said in a statement.

“When people come to my house for lunch or dinner, the No. 1 thing they ask is, ‘How is this so delicious and still healthy?’ So I decided to answer that question with recipes everyone can enjoy.”

Previously, Winfrey was working on her memoir, The Life You Wanti, but that’s now being pushed back until the cookbook is released.
