Police hunt for men who ‘racially abused’ train passengers

DESTINATION: The incident occurred on a Glasgow Queen Street to Dunblane train service

POLICE OFFICERS have launched an investigation after a mixed race man and an interracial couple were allegedly racially abused on board a train in central Scotland by two men on December 29.

At roughly 8.20pm two men are reported to have racially abused a mixed race male and another couple, a white woman and black man, on the 7.44pm Glasgow Queen Street to Dunblane service.

The two men responsible, who alighted from the train when it arrived at Stirling, are both described as being aged between 30 and 40 years with very short hair and wearing dark clothing.

“I would appeal for anyone who was on the train, at the stations or has any information regarding the identity of those responsible for this unacceptable and unprovoked racial abuse to contact me,” said the officer in charge of the enquiry, Constable Ross Falconer.
