Powell picks up more silverware


CHARLTON MANAGER Chris Powell was named the League One Manager of the Year by the League Managers’ Association (LMA).

The 42-year-old received the gong at an LMA award evening at Old Billingsgate in London having won the League One title and gained promotion to the Championship with a club record of 101 points.

The Addicks only lost five league games in the season and Powell also captured three Manager of the Month awards in the 2011/12 campaign.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew received the Premier League Manager of the Year award while there were also accolades given to Reading’s Brian McDermott and Swindon Town’s Paulo Di Canio.
