PREGNANT WOMAN'S MURDER: Court artist sketch by Elizabeth Cook of Aaron McKenzie

A MAN charged with the murder of a pregnant woman has accepted responsibility for her killing, the Old Bailey has heard.

Kelly Mary Fauvrelle, 26, was eight months pregnant when she was fatally stabbed in her own home in Thornton Heath, south London, on June 29.

Her son, Riley, was delivered by paramedics at the scene of her murder but died in hospital four days later.

McKenzie, Fauvrelle's ex-partner, was charged with her murder and the manslaughter of her baby son, Riley last Sunday at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court.

The 25-year-old, who is from Peckham, south London, has been remanded in custody.

McKenzie has also been charged with one count of possession of an offensive weapon.

A plea hearing is due to take place on October 2. A provisional trails date has been scheduled for December 2.

Fauvrelle’s family was in the house when she was attacked.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service 3.30am to reports of a woman in cardiac arrest inside an address at Raymead Avenue.

Despite paramedics efforts, they were unable to save her.

At the time, police investigating Fauvrelle's murder described the sad news of her baby son's death as a "tragic development" in the case.
