THE PREMIER League will once again endorse the upcoming Football Black List Celebration which takes place next month.

The Football Black List, published in The Voice, highlights members of the black community for their contribution across football. The list focuses not only on those that perform on the field, but also those who work tirelessly behind the scenes and the champions at grassroots level, often referred to as the lifeblood of the beautiful game. Also gaining recognition for their work are those who work in the media either as journalists, broadcasters and pundits.

Premier League executive chairman, Richard Scudamore, told The Voice:

“The Premier League and our clubs celebrate diversity at all levels of football. We welcome coaches, players and fans from across the world, and encourage people from different backgrounds to get involved in the sport, whether playing, supporting or considering a career in the many roles across the game.

“The Football Black List is a fantastic event that we are pleased to support again. It celebrates the hard work and successes of people from BAME communities who are making big contributions to English football. We hope that recognising their efforts at this event will inspire others to follow.”

The Football Black List is the brainchild of founders, sports journalist and broadcaster Leon Mann and Voice Sports Editor, Rodney Hinds.

Hinds said:

The Voice is very proud to be the home of the Football Black List. It has helped to give so many in the community some much deserved praise for the outstanding work they are doing.

“It has been great to see the support we have got for the list grow and I am delighted to have co-founded such an important initiative.”
