President’s son releases an album

OH BOY: Sandro Martelly

THE SON of Michel Martelly, the recently elected president of Haiti, is releasing an album after deciding he wants to follow in his father’s musical footsteps.

Sandro Martelly, who goes by his artist name "Ti-Micky," which means little Micky in Haitian Creole, released his first album at a hotel in the Haitian capital, his father announced on his Twitter page.

“At the official Album release party of T-Micky. Feel very proud of my son Sandro”.

The album is thought to be a blend of compas and hip hop.

The 18-year-old chose the name to distinguish him from his father who during his music career was known as 'Sweet Micky' before he became president in May.

President Martelly is considered a master of the music known as compas, a Haitian form of meringue
