Prestigious Jazz awards set for 2018 return

JAZZ FM CEO Jonathan Arendt hailed 2017 as a 'year of stellar live performances' earlier this week as the largest commercial jazz station in the world announced plans to out the awards next year for the fifth time.

With nominations set to be announced in the new year, along with recipients of special award categories, the ceremony - now widely regarded as one of the most prestigious vents on the jazz calendar – will take place at Shoreditch Town Hall on Monday April 30, 2018, coinciding with UNESCO’s annual International Jazz Day celebrations, aiming to bring together communities, schools, artists, historians, academics, and jazz enthusiasts all over the world to celebrate and learn about jazz and its roots, future and impact.

Following the success of the 2017 Jazz FM Awards and its rollcall of international stars which included the likes of Laura Mvula, Charlie Watts, Sir Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Soweto Kinch and Courtney Pine, this will be the second year the ceremony is held at Shoreditch Town Hall - an independent arts,events and com man its place housed in n e of the grandest former civic buildings in the capital.
