Rihanna documentary to be released in ‘two months’

DOCUMENTARY: The project's director has described it as a 'pretty comprehensive profile'

A DOCUMENTARY about the life and career of Barbados’ biggest musical export, Rihanna, is set to be released later this year, according to its director.

While promoting his latest film Mile 22, starring Mark Wahlberg, director Peter Berg said that the Rihanna documentary is almost ready to be released.

Berg told Slash Film: “I think she’s an extraordinary young woman and it really is kind of a pretty comprehensive profile of what goes into making her this talent that she is. The work ethic, the talent, luck, the hustle, the vision. She’s a really, really interesting woman and the movie will be out in about a month and half, two months we’ll be able to start showing it.”

The announcement marks yet another addition to what is understood to be a very busy year for the Bajan singer. She is said to be working on two albums – one of which is believed to be a collection of dancehall songs, and was recently snapped in Cuba with Donald Glover, sparking rumours that the two were working on a film.

In spite of her extremely hectic schedule, Rihanna is still finding time to be there for her friends.

This weekend, the 30-year-old has been spotted in Barbados being a bridesmaid at the wedding of her childhood bestie Sonita.

In videos and pictures posted on social media, Rihanna can be seen wearing a floor-length royal blue gown.

The star even found time to post selfies with the bride on her Instagram account, giving fans and followers a behind-the-scenes look at her pre-wedding preparations.

If Berg’s comments about the release date of the highly-anticipated Rihanna documentary hold true, the world will get to see a lot more about her life than the snippets she shares on social media.
