Roses to face the queens

HEADING TO THE UK: Malawi will play England in November

THE GENTING Arena will stage international netball this November as England face Malawi.

After the roaring success of Super Ten, Tracey Neville’s side will come to the Midlands for the third and final match of the Vitality Netball International Series.

It will be a brilliant opportunity to see the Roses in action in their last International Series of 2017 as preparations for the 2018 Commonwealth Games and England’s hunt for gold intensifies.

England Netball has been drawn in Pool B for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and will face New Zealand, Malawi, Wales, Scotland and Uganda. Defending champions Australia, Jamaica, South Africa, Barbados, Fiji and Northern Ireland make up Pool A.

The draw saw the top six teams in the world split between the two sides before the remaining six were drawn at random. The Roses have finished third in three previous Commonwealth Games (1998, 2006 and 2010) and came fourth in the most recent edition in Glasgow in 2014.

Malawi are currently ranked sixth in the official INF world rankings and are always real crowd pleasers with their flair, energy and passion. The first two matches of the 2017 series will take place at London’s Copper Box Arena on November 24 at 7:45pm and November 26 at 2pm.

The teams then move to England’s second city for the last – and potential deciding – match of the series, which will take place on November 29 at 7:45pm. It promises to be a thrilling battle between two dynamic, world class teams and tickets are expected to go fast so don’t miss out on your chance to be courtside.

Tickets go on sale at 12pm on August 11.
