Sabrina Moss gunned down in "vicious" and "cowardly" attack

KILLED: Sabrina Moss

A YOUNG mother gunned down as she celebrated her 24th birthday was killed in an attack fuelled by “violent antagonism" between two rival groups, a court has heard.

Sabrina Moss, a nursery teacher, and her fiends were ambushed by masked gunmen in Kilburn, northwest London on August 24 in an attack that Mark Heywood, QC for the prosecution, has described as “vicious and deadly as it was cowardly.”

The assailants fired a hail of bullets from submachine guns into the crowd after “carrying out a surveillance of the targets over three and a half hours,” Heywood added.

The shootings were the tragic result of an ongoing violent dispute between the alleged killers and a group from South Kilburn, Mr Heywood told the jury.

The young mother was shot along with her friend Sabrina Gachette, 24 and two other party-goers Mahad Ahmed and Edson Da Silva.

Gachette survived her gunshot injuries but Miss Moss was pronounced dead at hospital.

Mr. Heywood went on to call the night one that would “live on forever in memory”

Martell Warren, 22, Hassan Hussein, 29, and Yassin James, 19, have pleaded not guilty to the murder of Moss, attempted murder Gachette, Ahmed and Da Silva and possession of a Mac10 machine gun with intent to endanger life.

They are further charged with Simon Baptiste, 29, for conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm.

The case continues.
