Second teen charged with Leytonstone double murder

DOUBLE MURDER: Aaron Carriere, left, and Josiah Manful

AN 18-YEAR-OLD has been charged with the murders of two men in east London.

Casey Jones, who lives in the area, will appear at Thames Magistrates Court this morning accused of stabbing Aaron Carriere and Josiah Manful to death, in Leytonstone.

Last month, Devonte Campbell, 19, of east London, was previously charged over the killings and will appear at the Old Bailey on May 28.

The bodies of east Londoners Carriere and Manful were found on March 1 in a black Ford Fiesta, in Montague Road, Leytonstone, following an emergency call.

A postmortem found Carriere died as a result of stab wounds to the neck. Cause of death for Manful was given as shock, haemorrhaging, and stab wounds to the chest.

Detectives are yet to establish a motive or why the Fiesta stopped in Montague Road.

They also believe that there were four other cars within the vicinity at the time of the murders and officers are keen to identify those vehicles and their occupants.

To date, there have been 18 arrests in connection with the investigation.

An incident room is open in Barking under Detective Chief Inspector Neil Attewell from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC).

Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8345 3715 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
