Singer who went viral on social media signs record deal


OSH - the man behind the infamous 'my ye is diffrent to your ye' meme which went viral last week - has signed a deal with a major record label.

Osh revealed on Instagram that he is officially signed to Columbia Records, not long after a video clip of him uttering the infamous phrase took over social media.

The video was inspired by Burna Boy's hit song 'Ye', and was uploaded on October 29. Since then, the short clip and phrase has gone global, with even rapper and commentator Joe Budden uttering his phrase during a recent episode of his show State of The Culture.

Taking to Instagram, the musician shared an image of him among the Columbia team which he captioned: "I told you it was different @columbiauk #ThisSide."

Many congratulated him on the record deal and shared their excitement on what he has to come.

"Wow God is too good, Congrats," wrote one Instagram user, while another said: "Only upwards and onwards for him! This is how you use social media correctly with humour, a positive message and now success - congrats!."

Columbia Records is a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, and features a roster of talented acts including Lotto Boyz, Khalid, ASAP Rocky, Tyler the Creator plus more.
