TAMERA MOWRY is searching for news on her niece following the fatal shooting in the US last night.

A gunman, who has now been identified as military veteran Ian David Long, opened fire on people at a college bar in Thousand Oaks, California, killing 12 people, including a police officer.

Seeking information about the whereabouts of her niece, Alaina, Mowry tweeted one of the young woman's friends who had posted images of her with the caption: “My suitemate is still missing, she is wearing denim shorts, a blue flannel and sneakers, pls let me know if you know anything #Borderline.”

Mowry replied to the post asking if she was the only one unaccounted for, to which Ashley replied: “Yes, all the other girls are safe.”

Hours after the shooting, Mowry revealed that she still had not heard from or found her niece.

She said: “We haven’t found her yet. It’s been seven hours since the shooting.”

Adam Housley, Mowry’s husband, and her twin sister, Tia, have been asking people to pray as they wait for news.

Housley tweeted: “Please pray if you believe...pray.”

Tia tweeted: “Woke up shocked. Please pray. Please pray. I am numb.”

According to a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, Housley attempted to search a local hospital for his niece but was refused access by a guard.

The reporter, Andrea Castillo, tweeted: “Adam Housley arrived at the hospital searching for his niece Alaina. A guard didn’t let him through, saying it was on lockdown. He said Alaina, a Pepperdine freshman, was at the bar with several friends. Her Apple Watch and iPhone still showed her location on the dance floor.

“Housley said two of Alaina’s suitemates jumped through a broken window to escape and are at a hospital with major glass wounds. As they ran away from the bar, someone screamed “Hey! Get the [sic] down on the ground!” They told Housley they believe it was the gunman.”
