Stamford Bridge to celebrate diversity at Chelsea v West Ham

CHELSEA WILL celebrate equality and diversity with a warm up game as part of the Premier League’s No Room For Racism campaign.

The match will also serve as a celebration of Kick It Out’s 25th anniversary.

In a statement on on Chelsea’s website, they said: “Chelsea is committed to creating an inclusive club where diversity is valued and everyone – from our players and fans through to our staff and volunteers - feels welcome, valued and included as part of the Chelsea FC community.”

Prior to kick-off, the squad will warm up in Game for Equality t-shirts and wear the Building Bridges logo on their kit.

“Through Building Bridges, our club-wide equality initiative, we bring together anti-discrimination campaigns and charities as well as football authorities, to highlight the importance of tackling all forms of discrimination and ensuring we are a club for everyone,” the statement read.

At half-time, participants from the Chelsea Foundation disability football programme will also take to the pitch for a once-in-a-lifetime penalty shoot-out, while throughout the week Chelsea will be celebrating diversity with various events.

There will be a number of videos on display throughout the evening which will showcase the club’s commitment to equality and diversity.
