TESCO HAVE apologised for for labelling a fancy dress costume as Dark Panther, instead of Black Panther.

An image of the costume went viral on Twitter, with many calling out the supermarket for the mistake.

In a statement to Newsbeat, Tesco said: "This was a mistake and we are extremely sorry for any offence caused.

"We are correcting the description of this product on our website and are reviewing our processes to ensure this doesn't happen again."

It's certainly a mistake - and a pretty big one, given the nature of the film.

Black Panther is now one of Marvel's most successful films, making $700 million worldwide in just over two weeks.

It is also the second biggest opening for a Marvel Studios film, behind 2012's The Avengers, surpassing Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War and Iron Man 3.
