Traccee Ellis Ross performs with mum Diana Ross on stage

GIRL POWER: Diana Ross (left) with daughter Traccee Ellis Ross

FANS WERE treated to a touching mother-daughter moment as actress Tracee Ellis Ross, daughter of legendary singer Diana Ross, took the stage to sing one of her mother’s famous songs.

Last week at Las Vegas’ Venetian Theater, Ross randomly stopped the show and asked her daughter to join her on stage.

Ellis Ross, 43, assumed The Supreme star meant her younger brother Evan, who is a singer, but realised it was her name that her mother had called.

At first, she seemed nervous to be performing Lady Sings the Blues, but once she got rolling, she seemed to enjoy herself.

The last time Tracee sang with her mum was when she was a child.

After the stirring performance, she took to Facebook to praise her mother and to share her feelings on the experience of singing with the legend on stage.

“She is a nurturing and fierce mum,” she wrote.

"Intimate and ancient, in a setting that isn’t meant to support mothering: on stage with the whole world watching. There is a way in which she creates privacy and makes space for the sacred in the most public of settings. It is profound, and defines an intimate depth and wisdom that my mom holds. She has always carved out space for her children. I have always known I was the priority.”

She added: “My favourite part was me burying my head into her shoulder. It has been ages since I’ve hidden so deeply in my mother’s embrace, and it was awesome.”
