US attorney general Eric Holder hospitalised

THERE ARE major concerns about the US attorney general Eric Holder after he was taken to hospital due to experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath, reports say.

He was admitted to Washington Hospital Center at about 9.30am local time today (Feb 27) and remains under the care of doctors.

The symptoms suggest he could have been experiencing a heart attack, but no confirmation about what he experienced has been made.

His office said the 63-year-old Holder is “resting comfortably and in good condition”.

He experienced the problems before his daily meeting with staff at the justice department.

President Barack Obama appointed Holder to attorney general after his first election victory in 2008.
