'What's The Play?' with Anthony 'Play' Douglas

I'M BACK with a bang! Yep I’ve been quiet on my updates but it's thanks to major milestones and progression taking place. Thankful to be able to share the latest news with you guys!

Last week, was monumental both in my career and for 2018! I was in Atlanta shooting my very FIRST music video for my track You Decide feat. @DemarcoDaDon & @adekunleGOLD. It was a MOVIE thanks to video production by @_desgray. Massive shout out to the cameos, models and friends that participated and showed their support. Stay tuned, the release date is Oct 15 (preorder is available on iTunes now).

As I continue my journey of my very own music project, I continued to put that studio work in whilst out in Atlanta... more great tracks to come!

Busy as I was, I couldn’t miss the Red Bull Culture Clash! The competition drawing a sold-out crowd to catch Zaytoven, Mija, Kenny Beats, Kranium and Fuego battle it out to bring home the title of Culture Clash Champion. NYC based dancehall artist @therealkranium and his team made it as this year’s culture clash champs! I also caught up with the legendary Paul Wall and Fuego in between the hype!

I flew back in time for Notting Hill Carnival and despite a rainy Sunday, people were still making the most of it! I hosted on the BET truck with my rain poncho swag!

Monday came through with better weather and attracted even more ravers! I was representing my Jamaican and Sierra Leonean Roots entertaining the crowds with my family @browneaglerestaurant1. Shout out to my NHC squad that rolled out!

Q: Tell us about your latest single?

A: My latest single is an afro-swing/trap song. Its about the fresh feeing you have after leaving a bad situation/relationship. And realising your worth.

Q: How would you describe your music to new listeners?

A: I would say its relatable and motivational, but not preachy. Catchy choruses make for easy listening, and witty wordplay, making for an inspiring listen.

Q: Do you have any project coming out and when should we be expecting it?

A: I’m always working so you can expect a project soon, but for now its all about the singles and building the anticipation, before I give the people what they want.

Q: If you could collaborate with any artist right now, who would it be?

A: Chip. Witty word play, bar for bar one of the best to ever do it.

Q: What advice do you have for other artists on the come up?

A: Persistence is key never take no for an answer. To be honest no is just on the path to yes. Put time into your craft and make sure you develop yourself to the best possible version of you.

Q: Where can we find Stern Stakes?

A: @sternstakes on everything, you find me on all the usual social platforms
