This is who Cori Gauff wants to see win Wimbledon

SENSATIONAL: Cori Gauff

WIMBLEDON WILDCARD Cori Gauff has said she wants to Serena Williams to take the title at this year’s tournament.

Gauff, 15, who beat Williams’ sister Venus in the first round of Wimbledon,

Williams, who is through to the semi finals, will secure her eighth Wimbledon title and 24th grand slam if she progresses to the final and wins.

Asked by CNN if she is hoping Williams will go all the way, Gauff, who is also known as Coco said: “Yes, of course. If it’s not going to be me, I’d definitely, 100 per cent, want it to be her.”

Williams described Gauff as being on a “different level” during a post match press conference.

Reacting to the praise and recognition she’s received, Gauff told CNN: "That's really surprising and shocking, when your idol even knows you exist that's pretty crazy.

“Serena’s so nice and I’ve met her a couple times and both of the Williams sisters have been very sweet to me and my family.”

She added: "Serena is at the highest level she’s always at the top of her game. So for her to say that I'm at a different level is really surreal.”

The tennis playing teenager has revelled in the opportunity to live her dream at SW19 and she’s won the hearts of tennis fans and stars alike.

High profile support of Guaff has not just come from Williams, former US first lady Michelle Obama described Gauff as “terrific” after she beat Polona Hercog in a three set match last week; Jaden Smith gave the teen a Twitter shout out and Tina Knowles-Lawson posted a video from her match on her Instagram account, celebrating the young player’s win against Hercog.
