Young woman left severely scarred after horrific acid attack

A YOUNG woman who was returning home from her job was left with horrific facial injuries following a random acid attack in east London.

Twenty-year-old Naomi Oni was recovering at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford after a substance, believed to be acid, was thrown on her after she got off of a bus on Lodge Avenue, Dagenham, on December 30.

Oni, who received skin grafts for her severe burns, was on her way home from her job at Victoria’s Secret in Westfields Shopping Centre in Stratford.

Police say that she reached her house where an ambulance was called and was taken to hospital where she was treated for burns.

Oni has since been released from hospital.

No arrests have been made and officers from Barking and Dagenham are keeping “an open mind as to the motive.”
