HIRING: National Housing Federation

THE NATIONAL Housing Federation are recruiting for a Chief Executive. See additional details below:

With the scale and complexity of the housing crisis rarely far from the headlines, and the political landscape around it shifting all the time, the National Housing Federation is an organisation performing a critical role as the voice of housing associations in England.

The Federation is one the most influential and high profile trade bodies in the UK; its diverse membership of over 900-housing associations provides two and a half million homes for more than five million people, and reinvests its profit in projects that help create strong, vibrant communities.

Ahead of the retirement of David Orr, after 12 successful years as Chief Executive, the Federation is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to ensure that the Federation is a voice for the sector, working with policy makers at the highest levels to help shape housing policy and ensure housing associations are seen as key partners in delivering it.

The Chief Executive will have responsibility for the Federation’s financial stability, overseeing its £15m income and 120 people, and ensure it is providing an exceptional and relevant offer to its members and delivering against its mission, values, strategy and business plans.

Candidates will bring substantial strategic and operational leadership experience from any sector, and a strong track record of building positive relationships at the highest levels and with a range of stakeholders, including those in government. The ability to deliver high performance and motivate and inspire others to success is also essential.

The Federation wants its staff to reflect society in all its diversity and positively encourage applications from suitable qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
