For this, they need to attract the very best talent. As it says on their careers website: “The service we offer our customers is absolutely essential to people and companies across the country, so to make it happen we need people who truly love what they do.”

It’s always different and that’s what makes it exciting.”

Over three years, apprentice vehicle technicians go on an in-depth learning journey through on-the-job and classroom training. It’s all about taking those with a flair for mechanics and engineering, and turn them into automotive experts. “You’re always learning,” explains Daniel Pook, Apprentice Vehicle Technician. “We’re not just working on the iconic red vans. There are loads of different vehicles which means we’re always developing new skills, way more than we would working for a dealer where you just work on one type.”

At Royal Mail they are passionate about nurturing talent. And that’s why their apprentices are truly valued by the team and are given the opportunity to make an impact from day one. After all, many of Royal Mail apprentices have the potential to become future leaders of the business.
